Advice doesn't seem prevent me from making mistakes, but it does help me notice and correct them faster than I likely would have without it.

So it seems there's no substitute for experience, but learning from others can help with pruning the dead-end options much, much faster.

Experience is the only path to true confidence. The best advice lets you become truly confident with the minimal amount of experience.

Maybe "mastery" would be a better word than "confidence" there. Confidence has too many other associations.
