In conversation with my physicist father, I learned that theoretical lower bound for containing an electron is basically the hydrogen atom.

Of course, it's a hell of a physics/materials science/engineering problem to solve. But the smart money doesn't bet against human ingenuity.

Note that Moore's Law is about CMOS ICs and is probably going asymptotic. But something else will replace Si-based transistors soon enough.
