I wonder if one way of making things fair is to rule that taking any drugs that adjust someone’s performance to improve or even lessen their abilities should be banned. I don’t think it is fair for instance to medicate in order to qualify for a sports category.

Only if you think that it's fair to essentially exclude the vast majority of female people from competing at the top level of sports
