It's hailing outside, the sun is shining, the temperatures have plummeted to almost normal levels for eastern France in early Feb. - and I am chasing mosquitoes out of the house. I'm so confused.

An ocean heat wave off the U.S. West Coast from 2014 to 2016 drove humpback whales into a narrow band of cooler water, leading to a dramatic increase in whale entanglements with crab-fishing gear, according to a new study.

Antarctica’s glaciers are melting so fast, you can swim in them. Thwaites glacier already above freezing at outer edge below and it alone could lead to about 3 feet of sea-level rise. via

Indigenous knowledge should not be treated as "a backup plan only activated in a time of crisis." Despite only making up 5% of the population, Indigenous people protect 80% of the Earth’s biodiversity. It's time we TRULY listened to Indigenous knowledge.

My last cat died a few months ago. Ever since, I've had an invisible critter in my home office. I can hear it scratching about from time to time, but I can't find it. There's no food here. I never see any telltale sign of its existence. I mean, it must be a mouse, right? Right?

When interest groups feel threatened by env. activists like Mr. Gonzalez, who fought to protect the endangered monarch butterfly, they don't always play by the rules. Env. activists are murdered around the world because they call into question the idea of 'business as usual.'

activist González' body was found in a well, reportedly showing signs of torture. Some have speculated that it could be related to illegal logging disputes. The murder rate continues to surge in a country where env defenders are routinely targeted for their work 🦋
