So it's such a competitive slot now that Tv3 are showing old movies instead of Norton? All the free to air channels have abandoned Friday nights for one reason - it's when Netflix drops new content

Dr Who is sci-fi - it's less family led than it used to be, so it was never going to rate on the Fridays. In truth, it's a misnomer on TVNZ actual TV - OD is its natural home; ratings are bad on Fri, and everyone's making the best of a low rating zone - which is even competitive
