Given that dogs can't offer political support what is it all for? Is this useful idiots who drank the Kool Aid?

This does cast some shade on bioleninism as a coherent strategy — it seems more likely to be an epiphenomenon of victimhood culture. Maybe
@thespandrell can write about pit bulls next.2 replies 0 retweets 11 likes -
It feels like a cop out but I really do think True Believers drinking the Kool Aid is a thing. We see it all over the Cathedral now, where elites are confused as to the nature of reality in ways they weren’t 25 years ago because they forgot the initial move was a power play.

The sheer number of pit bull advocates also disproves the cop out one frequently heard from some academics that “nobody actually believes in Blank Slate.”

We live in a theocracy which hold a the Blank Slate to be unassailable.

The mechanics of this faith are also interesting. I have no doubt many of the believers doubt Blank Slate to some extent, yet they tell themselves they must believe in it anyway because it is a Good Thing to believe in.

“So even if my dog DOES rip my throat out, no one will be allowed to say I told you so without looking racist. Hell, they’ll feel obligated to praise me.” At this level of belief, there’s a lot of balancing between social and physical risk and reward.
