Fair enough. Most folks think 'Dr.' implies medical doctor. I've never taken umbrage at anybody failing to call me 'Dr.' or 'Prof.'. In fact I'm vaguely uneasy when they do use these honorifics. PhDs calling themselves Dr on everything screams nutrition science. Usually the credentialists have to hide behind Dr because they have no real skills.

If a PhD insists on Dr, i’ll insist on a thesis-reductive surname, eg, “you got it, Doctor Sperm Competition”. It’s only fair.
