Well, one thought: Everyone says that less-intelligent people have the same full moral worth as average and smart people. (I firmly believe this.) But despite this egalitarian belief, we all keep talking and acting like intelligence is a personal virtue.

It's obviously better to be smart than not, and everyone realizes this, and our brains don't instinctively delineate well between between virtue and success.

It's obviously better to be smart than stupid but I'm not sure it's better to be very smart than quite smart (granted, I might be saying that because I'm not very smart).

The psychometric validity of the IQ test starts becoming questionable after 150 (it's hard to know what real world achievements to measure against) but below that the correlation of all good things with IQ holds all the way to the top. It's discussed in
