Someone already pointed out this was from a series of tweets that were supposed to sound bad alone, but if viewed with its partner tweet brought the full message. it was a game, and a joke, and sharing it out of context to try and equalize everyone is really irresponsible

It's a truly disgusting thing to crack jokes about. Hurtful. Gunn of today, seems to think so too. If admitting, apologizing and not repeating mistakes are not enough, what is? Do we just give up on people after an arbitrary age? I prefer people turning kind than staying mean.

A great question. What is the road back? What is enough, in terms of making amends? I do believe that we have an obligation, as humans, to help, and not spurn, someone looking to make amends, someone looking to change. Abandonment is the path to ruin for the person and society.

Are people becoming jaded by insincere apologies that are followed by yet another horrible deed maybe? It seems to happen a lot, people using "Sorry!" as a moral reset button without actually changing their ways. I feel like this is not one of those times, it's been years now.

Your problem with this situation is that he didn't cover it up sufficiently? You'd believe his sincerity of not believing in the things he wrote if he lied about them happen instead of owning up and apologizing for the them? Years ago. Your feelings are valid. But I disagree.
