I think we would al like a more rational society. But for the individual, discovering their own hypocrisy, while living in an irrational society, can be a problem no? -Less ability to get along -Less of the faith that drives action -Greater cognitive load -Etc.

Yes evolution made you blind for a reason, so you'll need a reason it didn't foresee to overrule its judgement.
