It's a well-informed design, so "plausible", but I read it pretty quickly and I'd have to think deeply about possible attacks / failure modes before I upgraded it to "promising". That's my fault, not theirs, though.

Most people don't want to speculate on high-risk investments, they just want to use money. Having a currency also be a high-risk investment may seem great when it's rising, but tying them together makes it a less useful product.
