As a general field, sure. But ppl aren't betting on "crypto" in general: they're buying tokens, which are bets on very specific value propositions, features, founders/influencers, etc. As

Think dot com era or China. The internet / China really did become huge, the predictions were correct. Yet almost all of the value was captured by investments unavailable to most investors, and most investors got killed while being "right".
