1/ Watching #btc volatility & thinking about current use cases, I finally appreciate why @VitalikButerin says it's important to make a StableCoin. Ppl should be able to store value w/o taking on all this currency risk.

It’s called a GOLD Coin. It is a real coin. Doesn’t have any counter party risks if held physically. It has several thousands years of history as money through various cultures and remains highly anonymous. King money!
Physical coinage has many of the desired features, hence millennia of dominance, but it doesn't have the advantages of cryptocurrencies - instant global transfer, storage in tiny space, divisibility, etc.

If you could have trusted parties distributed globally holding the precious metals, backing the gold or silver crypto. I know there are some already and more in works but a very large, trustworthy entity is needed.. outside of legal challenges.
