I too don't like this, but is it really super-weird
Serving slow-acting poison that people find it hard to resist eating, claiming you are being kind and generous - how is that (objectively) not super-weird?

Only a little, because I think for many people it's easier to resist, the downsides are well-known, and it has more health benefits. Donuts are a "sweet" spot of harmful + viewed as benign

Hmm. I guess it doesn't seem super weird because I never stopped to look at it that way. It still seems like just another one of those things, perhaps bad but not weird. Maybe with time.
