What are the professions other than gaming and gambling where what matters is being right rather than people thinking you're right?

@patrissimo Athletes somewhat. Authors no; publicity/perception > quality. Small biz? If you can self-fund and do mostly repeat biz, perhaps
@TheZvi what I mean abt authors is you can't fake sales figures. Performance has a clear metric. Same goes for chain restaurant profit.
