There are these apps that feed you summaries of books and sites where you can find notes. They may have their use, but the thing about reading a book is this: As you read, your brain starts consciously and subconsciously mull over the material. Ideas incubate. Connections form.
It may be that you get more out of reading, but it takes way more time. If it is 5x the value and 10x the time...it's less efficient way to learn.

Prefer tweets, blog posts, summaries, podcasts at 1.8x speed to books. Don't get me wrong, I love reading full books, but I think consuming 10x the condensed books, and only reading the truly most important and profound, will teach you more. See
