As I've said elsewhere, human cultures mix too much for "competition with Mormons and Amish" to be a question just of competing exponential growth curves. Many children of cultural outlier groups will move into the mainstream. We can coexist and all contribute to human survival.
Think statistically. Suppose there were a virus that rendered 25% of Democrats sterile. Yes, more Democrats can be recruited/converted. Yes, political party is only partly heritable. But while you are pointing out the correlations are not 1.0, your party loses every election.
