Yeah, never trust that @robinhanson guy. He's only an insanely smart dude who cares about human life more than most.
It's almost like their complaints are not about truth-seeking, but about demonstrating values through opposition (like signing a petition, not publishing a contradictory paper). We need a word for this, like "signaling", and a catch phrase, like "X is not about Y".

He's wonderful, I've learned a lot from him about really great ideas like how people's words are often about signaling affiliation, rather than making logical points. I wonder if that could even apply to Twitter?
