A remember picking it up once or twice when I was younger, it didn't suck me in like the Forever War, Asimov & Heinlein's stuff or later the Vorkosigan Saga. Is it worth revisiting?
If you didn't like the first book or two, then don't continue, it doesn't improve from there. I also would never claim it's as good as the stuff you cite; but then again not much is, so I still found it worth reading. Umm...my next recc in cat would be the Torchship trilogy.
