I tried. It’s just always felt lazy.

Eventually you'll burnout, as I did in 2012, and realize that resting enough today to be able to work tomorrow, and next week, and next month is the way to maximize output. Redlining is actually the lazy option - going hard is easier than planning a sustainable schedule.
-
Also,
@sebastmarsh would you please put your Redlining TSR up publicly, I keep wanting to link people to it. It and@TheZvi 's Slack piece are the two best pieces of writing on this idea that a lot of people need to learn.

People keep telling me this. There’s just so much I can do. Have legit been considering learning the überman sleep schedule to do more things
-
Don't do it! Uberman was designed as least bad way to handle solo sailing expeditions. It does not work for normal life. Young men are often tempted by it, but very few of those who try it ever last a month. They blame their own willpower, instead of realizing TANSTAAFL.
-
You’re absolutely right. Sure, I’m doing ALOT of things now but I should optimise my current hours I’m awake. Doing the Überman would just be dangerous for my health! I have to remember I’m only 22, I’ll have a lot of days to do a lot of things.
-
Uberman would be great if it worked. But the reason the internet is not full of people saying "I have been doing Uberman for 3 years now" is that it doesn't work.
-
I spent a while on a polyphasic schedule like that, bit more extreme than uberman. worked sometimes, but most of the time I was just exhausted
-
Yeah exactly, next week I have to try and write a 100 page report on equity analysis. If I’m exhausted half the time I’ll just get no work done

Wow. That earns a follow.
-
Aww, thanks! What I most want to earn is solidly internalizing the lesson, which (like all personal change) is much harder than anything involving Twitter :).

Excellent point. Hard to put into practice. Doing something you are passionate about makes it a lot easier! Go to sleep happy about doing good and wake up happy ready to take on another day!
-
Definitely hard to put into practice. I was pondering the concept as part of the slow process of trying to learn it for myself.

Hodling btc is a good practice to learn this imo.

Yes, hodling exemplifies the related Buddist insight "Don't just do something, sit there".
