The absolute number of inventions continues to increase, and tech change causes social/cultural change. Internet + smartphones seems to me to have more profound social impact than anything in the 20s. Great Depression was a big change, but temporary (like large wars).

Cars, planes, ubiquitous electricity, telephony and light? Not sure about chronology but I think these changes are taken for granted today. Do you think the internet is more important than all of these things?
