Wow. Ok then. But why do the strongest man competition guys look different (and are a different age for max performance - 40s-50s)?
Two reasons (with 1 explaining most variation): 1. Strongman is about absolute nominal weight lifted, while powerlifting is relative to body weight. This selects for the absolute largest humans for strongman. 2. The big belly in strongman makes pulling trucks.....
Or pulling other objects easier as a simple matter of physics. Finally, the belly also helps a ton with reducing the difficulty level of stone pick ups and the like.
As in many other things, the institutional ruleset determines what peak performers select for. Powerlifting rules select for strength relative to body weight (far more impressive IMO), while strongman rules select for largest relative body mass and absolute strength
