When magazines feature life lessons from young actresses, singers, etc, they are mistaking the vigor and potential of youth with wisdom. Far better to get those lessons from the @NotoriousRBG's of the world.

Another potential sign of a sick society: the female status hierarchy is ruled by maidens instead of matriarchs. Healthy societies prize women's wisdom & experience over youthful beauty & fertility. (Inspired by reading #CamillePaglia and #DavidDeida)

Applying this to male society is complex: both parallels and differences. I don't think older men's voices are displaced by younger men's voices, in our society, to anything like the same degree that matriarchs are displaced by maidens. If they were, that would be bad too.
