Every year, Spotify's "Your top songs!" list reminds me about my previous year's plan to separate _my_ account from the family's Sonos system. On the plus side, I can see exactly which "Bibi Blocksberg" and "Ritter Rost" stories the kids had on repeat... :)
I’ve found it handy to use two entirely different services for this. I use a shared family Apple Music account for the family stuff. By using the integrated platform offering I can shout at my phone and stuff will play. But for personal use I use a dedicated Spotify account.

Handy, yes! But I already have a family subscription to Spotify; I really just need to create a service account for Sonos, and haven't yet taken the time to set it up. :(

My issue with the family subscription option is they often don’t make it easy to switch....especially if you involve any voice assistant stuff. They try to be fancy and use voice detection to pick the family member...that’s silly..I want my voice to pick stuff for me or the kids.
