Every time I remember that Theresa May threw away a Tory parliamentary majority just days before the Brexit talks, I burst out laughing.

Nonsense. She called an unnecessary election for opportunistic reasons, thinking she would trounce Labour. Instead, the left gained ground.

I meant specifically that it was an assertively left proposition from Labour - something that wouldn't have been achieved otherwise.

Nonsense. She did expect to trounce Corbyn yes, but also knew she was obliged to have her own mandate prior to Brexit talks. #monthetories

Your comment proves the disarray in the Tory party. #brexit didn't have to happen; the #GE2017 didn't have to happen. All Tory self interest

Because no SNP or Labour voters actually voted for Brexit did they. It's all the Tories.

Yes it is. There was no public hunger for #brexit. Discontent, yes, but we could reform Europe and lead it. What a complete shambles.

I think you'll find the Brexit voters simply left UKIP back to labour which means that the appetite is still there.

Didn't have to happen though; You're ignoring that altogether. Nobody was marching through the streets asking for a vote on EU.

Many people used their democratic voice rather than marching or burning newspapers. That democratic voice spoke again in the referendum.
