I think the framing will distort the answer. Lone heroes "saving the world" are somewhat rare these days. It is more common for teams of innovators, leaders, and activists to create change. Heroes get the credit, but teams do the work. True in labs, companies, govs, and charities

The work & research listed is amazing. This will create significant positive impact. This is what happens when entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists work together. True discovery & progress. Oh yeah, and forgot to mention this just happened under a week. Congrats

I deeply admire efforts such as this and those by the Gates foundation. Reducing friction to operationalize research and development could be a game changer with time being so crucial, enabling solution providers to begin solving problems!

Fascinating long term implications too. This could make a compelling case for the 'fail fast' strategy, successfully employed by tech industry to get to viable solution quickly, to be adopted widely in scientific research community.

Yes! Just like the scientists, researchers, and thinkers you guys funded through a vehicle that didn’t exist 12 days ago. Bravo

We didn't have right team/project, but we have a researcher testing viral inactivation rates on our copper-loaded spray paint we hope can beat solid copper. $10k would be huge for us. Publication fee, support semi-volunteer team, Kickstarter launch, outreach with gov officials.pic.twitter.com/Sjy6RSzkru

Imagine making masks come into existence in a world where the concept of a mask was previously unknown. While you say 6 months we could make a million cans in ~6 weeks. We are not mask-level, but at 10-20% it's a sad tragedy that we are spinning wheels with few hundred dollars.
