Dublin and Mexico City are going to become remote work hubs.
Dublin: English-speaking country, booming economy, and easy access to both the east coast and mainland Europe.
Mexico City: Safe and well-developed, with a temperate climate, and close to the United States.

That's why we're supporting communities all over Ireland to bring remote local (and internationally). This frees people up to access more affordable housing. Work done, more to do.

We absolutely have our challenges but we can still make change.
@david_perell it’s as likely that this will be *all island* as opposed to Dublin centric. For instance, our local higher level institutions are building remote working courses to build a remote ready workforce. - 1 more reply

Roughly when does housing become an insurmountable problem in making/breaking a city? SF is certainly an edge case, but how bad can it get in, eg Dublin before hitting point of no recovery?
-
I am still optimistic on housing. There are 2 8-storey apartment blocks (breaking the height limits) being built in Stillorgan. Housing is coming online and rising prices have slowed significantly. Hopefully we can fix the infrastructure problem as smoothly.

Dublin votes worst city to live in. Not sure why all the Tech talent put up with living in pods and places twice the size of graves when regional cities are buzzing and allow ‘surf @ 6 in south east’ or ‘livable Limerick’ rather than ‘work to die in co-living coffins of Dublin’.

Mexico is going to be vibrant; maybe a global partnership between both countries? But a Tech talent buying in regional remote hubs in Ireland can get three homes on the beach in Waterford city for the price of 1 tiny box / coffin in Dublin. Tech changes cities for better.

All the regional cities, like Limerick just getting 10,000 homes, Waterford having 6,000 coming in next 3 years, have to do ‘joined up’ hub & homes for better quality of living compared to Dublin. Put in ‘free personal tax to move back to cities’ then it’s really joined up.
