      Neuroplasticity means your cortex is flexible. It can rewire. It can’t really *grow,* though. From fetushood, your wires gain order as you mature. After some point, finding a more orderly or better overall wiring pattern becomes very difficult. (Obvs I am not a neuroscientist)

      Those folks are indeed impressive. I’m curious though what a training regimen should look like. I don’t need better memory as I mostly offload stuff I need to remember to digital files. What concretely should I do?

      That’s in response to the Ericsson paper, no? What @Gladwell references for the 10K hour rule iirc (@patrickc). The paper I think of RE: changing biomass was the Woollett and Maguire paper on London cab drivers developing the Knowledge.

      One thing to keep in mind is that there are generally no new neurons being born after birth. Fundamentally different from most other organs in the body.
