What are the best examples of group (especially large group) projects conducted extraordinarily quickly? P-80 Shooting Star, Celera & HGP, initial development of radar, maybe "Please Please Me" and "Led Zeppelin" albums...pic.twitter.com/lUlvATp5zA

Everything C.C. Meyers, Inc did -- they were the "low bid, massive payments for early completion" contractor in California, for stuff like "we need this bridge final assembly done, and only close the bridge for 3 days, must be done on time".

What I find amazing about him and his firm was that government contracting, especially road construction, is usually massively expensive/slow/delayed. This was like startup vs. incumbent but in a highly-regulated industry. (also https://www.comstocksmag.com/longreads/cover-worlds-fastest-man …)

This is his new firm -- http://www.myers-sons.com/  (there was some weirdness where he had to sell out of the first firm due to real estate losses, it went employee-owned then bankrupt). He really should do a youtube video and/or lecture at something like Startup School.

Start with https://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/02/us/02ramp.html … "Local lore has it that within 15 minutes of signing the contracts, Mr. Myers had workers and equipment on the scene. He insists that is not true. They were there 15 minutes before the signing, he said."

I was so glad to read this! Sort of, a day of hunter, hunting another. I love you begging for a reading link! I do not know until now what happened to the Glass Market of England at the beginning of the technological revolution. But, alright...pic.twitter.com/8fOGT7avDa
