A colleague suggested I should get a console icons tattoo. It could look like this, and I may for it if I get a thousand like on this tweet 😂

I was working on some `:visited` styles, and couldn’t figure out why the alpha of my `hsla()` was being ignored. I moved it to `opacity` and it still was ignored… but Firefox reminded me WHY it was being ignored. Thank you, Firefox! I had somehow forgotten about those limits.

A screenshot of the Firefox Web Inspector. Next to a grayed-out `opacity: 0.1;` is a lowercase 'i' in a circle. Above that, a popup says: “It’s impossible to override opacity due to :visited restriction.” This is followed by a “Learn more” hyperlink.

Puppeteer v2.1.0 is out! 🔥 ➡️ Chromium 80 ➡️ puppeteer.launch({product: 'firefox'}) Puppeteer can now talk to a real, unpatched Firefox binary. You no longer need to install puppeteer-firefox separately!

`puppeteer.launch` now accepts a `product` option which can be set to `'firefox'`.

Big layoffs at today. Anyone want a badass senior release manager, experienced in F/LOSS? Bay Area/Remote. I'm so proud of my work at Mozilla, shipping Firefox to hundreds of millions of people around the world. <3

The console autocomplete popup now displays variables, functions and classes declared in the input (even if the expression wasn't evaluated yet). This should help when writing longer snippets 🙂

In just a few short weeks, a better Picture-in-Picture arrives for Firefox users on macOS and Linux (Firefox 72). No fiddling with awkward context menus, no waiting for sites to use a new API, just direct user agency over video elements on all of your favourite video sites.

  16. Looks like browser layout engines create the necessary anonymous table elements:

  17. Say, what happens to an HTML element when its CSS display property is set to table-row? Is there an anonymous table created around it? Does its parent become a display:table element? Can it live on its own?

💡 Changes Panel: Follow-up question! We're thinking about preventing the + and - signs from being selected/copied. Would this negatively affect your workflow? If so, how? —V

  19. Do you use the media-query visualisation in Chrome DevTools? I'd love for us to add it to Firefox too, and would love people's feedback on this relevant discussion:
