Just five years ago, Ireland players like Emma Byrne and Stephanie Roche had to publicly appeal for dignity, respect and basic equipment from the FAI.
An amazing transformation - led by true trailblazers in our sport.

Just finished BUILD by after listening to the interview - absolutely superb. Fun mix of behind the scenes stories at some of tech’s biggest names and probably the best breakdown of how clients receive legal advice I’ve read.

A lesser spotted “grave professional misconduct”!
Personally it’s nice to see a contracting authority actually consider discretionary exclusions. However, I would have thought the self-cleaning evidence from Bain would have to be considered each time…

Self-cleaning allows orgs that have A) co-operated B) made changes, honest! C) paid any fines etc. to prevent public body from kicking them out of a tender. Up to public body to consider whether that it’s sufficient - but that decision is likely capable of challenge. (Reg 57)

On a lighter note, up Pats and Sligo. Great night for the LOI and it helps the coefficient if nothing else.
Just finished and ’s excellent Pandemonium on the pandemic. Lots of committee action and an awful lot of getting the highlighter out on key sections - might still feel a little raw but worth a read.

As a follow up - as I found out the hard way, range isn’t *quite* 8km if you’re carrying a bit of cargo/timber. Just can’t get away from that w/kg ratio.

I think it also remains a barrier to adoption - instead of trying the service on a bit of a whim you have to order the battery online etc., and 8km range isn’t particularly far even if most DB journeys are under 30 min. But a nice idea nonetheless.

First time using e-dublinbikes yesterday - it’s a decent experience, acceleration not quite as good as a dedicated e-bike but definitely helps you get away from the lights a bit quicker! I think the bring your own battery idea is a dealbreaker for most when you see the size…

The NI Protocol's favourite phrase: "A Minister of the Crown may, by regulations, make any provision which the Minister considers appropriate ...". As I've said before, these go beyond "Henry VIII" powers. We need a more fitting term: "Charles I" powers.
