  2. CSA carried out by family members. NHS, welfare state and MH charities don’t give a toss and haven’t changed in 40 years. Survivors have to get on with it in a society that refuses to acknowledge us, except for token awareness weeks

Britian should own it's history- see death toll for famines in British India in 19th century. During 1876-79 British governors made people work for relief with meagre rations so not to foster 'dependency'. Oh, the railways were used to ship grain out of India during the famines..

The British empire lasted far longer, did more damage and in many ways paved the way the Nazi's and their genocidal ideology. We do no favours to the victims of the Holocaust by pretending otherwise. If we forget the past we are likely to repeat it

Today we celebrate the birthday of Brazilian activist and anthropologist Lélia Gonzalez! She was born in 1935 in Belo Horizonte. She would have been 85 years old today.

  20. I feel so ashamed of what we’ve become reading this account from a French person driven away by Brexit. Ashamed of what we’ve become. People who have given years, decades of their lives to this country driven out by a xenophobic ideology and what it’s unleashed.
