A lot of what the app-dispatched workforce firms are doing is figuring out how to harness demand at scale for a particular really-easy-to-describe bit of labor, distribute (and/or hook into distribution of) the capital required to do the labor, and then put a price on it.

it is difficult to convince the universe to give you $5 for connecting a power plug to your outlet but really easy to convince the universe to give you that given the power plug is on a Bird and the app is open in your hand. That's the hard capital formation bit.)
