Ah, cash flow thrills (For those unfamiliar with business, you can be super profitable but struggle with cash flow. Cash flow is king and hard to manage especially with big companies moving slow and not caring about paying late.)pic.twitter.com/UVcoxnuH5r

I have been there. What are your options for charging up front? I had to stop task delivery for a client who were very late on a partial payment, thereby risking their overall project deadline.

We have one deliverable: sending them the compressor (since it's a licensing deal). We try to push for "We don't send this till you pay us" but big companies always push back hard and want us to send it then net 45. I know how to handle consulting, not sure how to improve this

I think I saw this from @patio11, but you can try to offer a minor discount (2-10%) which is only available by meeting an expediting pay window (net-7, net-14, for example). Many large companies have policies that buyers MUST use available discounts.

Also the easiest counteroffer to someone in a purchasing department who a) has a standard operating procedure where they have to ask for a discount and b) gets scored on whether they get a discount or not, and not scored on whether the thing is implemented in a timely fashion.

"Discount?" "We feel that the product is appropriately priced given the value $FIRM is going to get out of it, but hang on I just remembered, we do have an expedited payment discount available; I can get you 2% off the invoice if you agree to pay NET-15, which would be $DATE."
