I occasionally see people who only know one type of magic assume that others don’t exist. That’s unfortunate but teachable. I occasionally talk to people who have never seen magic ever. That’s sad and a bug in the world. “Everything is its own form of magic.” Regrettably, no.

I bounce between describing this as technology, because running organizations which predictably generate excellence is certainly a technology, and magic, because the world could use some childlike joy and wonder about how e.g. air travel is a thing.

I’m not even talking about the planes. Millions of people show up to work every day to make sure that one plane land for every one that takes off.

This is exactly how to think about teams of cyber warfare operators. You can have large teams of varying quality with processes and tools, or small teams of super hackers who’ll make the tools themselves if they have to. My suggestion is to have a lot of small teams.

The real trick is to embed the super hackers in the large teams to improve the processes and tools.
