“That’s not about the software business.” Oh, twist, it is.

Is “none of the above” an overly coy answer? I live in Nakameguro and am a professional; it has approximately the distribution you’d expect from “Who sends their kid to preschool in Nakameguro given professional class and not specifically choosing an expatriate-oriented school?”

Welcome to the Montessori system, we chose our two year old daughter's school precisely because of the blended age groups.

Have you ever noticed what happens when you take a toddler to a playground with a mixed aged group of children already playing there? The older ones instinctively take the younger one into their care, keeping each other in line to make sure that the young one doesn't get hurt.

At my daughter's school they did something similar. The girl who guided her on the first day is still a girl she plays with, even tho she is 2 grades higher

an oldie but goodie book you might be interested in here is https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300048124/preschool-three-cultures … -- it was a real eye opener for me, even if things have changed somewhat, the philosophical principles were fascinating (and prob apply to sw too;)pic.twitter.com/BIpg4auX2G

in particular, to your point, the non-tracking so different ages care for one another is neat; but esp. "handicapping" availability of toys (in number and variety) so kids are forced to collaborate is key

This is one of the many reasons I love the Montessori approach to school. Older kids also learn by teaching/leading while younger kids more likely to absorb and follow older kids’ lead.
-
It’s also what I love about homeschooling. My 7yo teaches my 5yo so much and loves it. Even my 1.5yo is learning in the mix!
