A verbal tic which I never hear inside a 5~10 year age range and pervasively outside of it: Use of a tech company’s name with a possessive or indefinite article to talk about an individual’s account. “Did you see your aunt’s Facebook?” “I have a Tumblr.” “Your Twitter is good.”

The thing I hear in kids my age is “Her Twitter account” or, for folks in the industry or marketing departments, “feed” or “tweets” or whatever the local branded term is. But it’s amusing to me that my 70 year old dad and my 17 year old cousin would both say “a Twitter.”

This is different than the other verbal tic, which I almost exclusively hear from older non-technical folks, where it is “the plural tech brand” (“Did you find that article on the Googles?”)

Is this like how parents in their 50s and 60s would refer to game consoles as "the Nintendo" no matter what kind of console it was?

I use this phrasing and am in the age window... But spend lots of time with people outside the window. I am going to pay attention to this now.
