The thing I hear in kids my age is “Her Twitter account” or, for folks in the industry or marketing departments, “feed” or “tweets” or whatever the local branded term is. But it’s amusing to me that my 70 year old dad and my 17 year old cousin would both say “a Twitter.”

This is different than the other verbal tic, which I almost exclusively hear from older non-technical folks, where it is “the plural tech brand” (“Did you find that article on the Googles?”)

This annoys me nearly as much as “I work in blockchain”. Blockchain… what? “We use cloud”. Cloud… what?

Wonder if this is related to feeling of identity/ownership. Older: there is one, total, "The Googles." Our range: you have up to one account per service. Younger: you have as many account as you need, frequently many per service.
