I also believe that the window of opportunity is limited. Japan will lose its' attractiveness over time if we don't leverage this moment.

I don't know if I believe that the opportunity is particularly bounded, but I think it would be salutary for people in positions of power in Japan (and startups, too) to genuinely sweat what gets done in every short interval. Less 5 year plans; more 5 week plans.

I think "official Japan" is not exactly unaware of that factor. The cultural industry (of which there are several, but you get what I mean) is treated like a strategically important industry vis exports and tourism, and support for it is very not accidental.
