how important is it to you as a talk attendee that the speaker introduce who they are? what if they just jump into the material? what do you want them to say in their intro slide?

Stigmatization: I don't need to elaborate who benefits most from a hypothetical norm "If you put your name next to your work you're ostentatiously seeking glory and we, as virtuous developers, should cut down your social status."

With a mixed speaker/attendee hat on, I think the slide should generally include institutional affiliation, a brief precis of professional relation to the topic of the talk, and (if at all possible) explicit permission to talk to speaker. ("We're hiring; come talk to me." works.)
