A less popular hill I will die on: Many people agree with me that コンプライアンス is a Japanese word, but I will also claim that compliance (spelled out in romaji) is *also* a Japanese word, which happens to resemble a word in English.

Haha, yeah, there's definitely truth to that. When I used, by mistake, "apple" in Japanese people would react confused. When I used アップル they suddenly understood. XD First experience with パソコン left me confused until I understood the contraction use common in Japanese.
