This is also true of working relationships after the candidate is hired. I've been making a concerted effort to communicate enthusiasm for coworkers' results. A concrete thing: if I'm ever reading a coworker's work and think to myself "Ooh, that is clever" or "Oh that worked a lot better than I would have expected", I try to make it a point to tell them that. For junior colleagues, I make extra effort to do so publicly.
