calm is scarier than angry and upset. calm tells them you will slowly and methodically destroy them, and it won’t bother you or tax you at all, because it’s not a tantrum, it’s JUST THE WAY YOU DO.

If you haven't heard me about Dangerous Professionals before: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2017/09/09/identity-theft-credit-reports/ … and I should pick one of those two to capitalize since capitalizing makes things official. ;)

I started this article wondering why Walmart would ever help someone with “a shoe”, read it with dawning awareness that something was going on, and ended it knowing a new piece of American slang :) Although, I can’t find a precise definition on Google. Even Urban D is no help!

It’s a metaphor, not slang, as far as I’m aware. Equifax does not care about my opinions. I am not a customer; I am the product. WalMart does not care about a shoe’s opinions. It is a shoe. They sell shoes, they don’t engage in spirited debate with shoes out of shoemanitarianism

I believe that particular article is the reason I follow you here. Fantastic advice.

@amyhoy There’s something oddly calming about reading almost 6,000 words on how to not get screwed over by a monolithic financial institution.

Good advice when you have easy leverage (small claims court, regulators, etc). When it comes to actual suits, lawyers become expensive quickly, it takes years, and court wins (or collections for cases won) are far from certain.

(I think) you were the author about a blog post that talked about negotiation and how the Japanese say 'no'; was that you or someone else?
