Am I surprised with the magnitude of this result? Not in the least; in live in Japan and worked adjacent to the economic engine which brought Japan out of grinding poverty to superpower in half a generation. I am at least a little surprised at *how easy* it was.

Look at _The Goal_ by Eli Goldratt and his theory of constraints, if you haven't already (it's mentioned in Phoenix Project). His consulting has created huge wins, much more than 16.6%.

More important (for those of us working in places like India) is how it stops being sustained. A manager leaves and then "floor clear of obstacles" or "maintenance as per manufacturer schedule" stops being a goal. This entropy is something which must be actively fought against.
