I run a bootstrapped, profitable, enterprise saas businesses targeting the charity sector. We charge large charities $$$ and give tools away pro-bono to grassroots orgs. It's totally possible to combine profit and purpose and would encourage more people to do so.

Great advice. If you don't run a predicable organization that pays its bills, everyone ends up getting nothing.

AARP for eg is a billion dollar enterprise. Can serve them and their mission while also following your advice to "charge more". Charity software market is underserved with tons of opportunities for new ventures.
