10X engineer at a 0.2X company probably nets to 1X; 10X engineer at a 10X company probably does not asymptote to only hundreds.

I have seen 3x to 5x. I don’t know a single company who pays 10x.

I always think of a group designing a brand/logo concept, vs just one or two people. It's painful to see the end result of work by council. It does, and can, work... but I always like the main guy to just wave their hands after 2 months of work, and say "yeah, we're doing this".
