(Computers are already substantially in charge of resolving addresses to physical addresses, since addresses in most of the world are approximations anyway, so this is less of a jump than people think.)

There was a great HN comment on this the other day. Apparently in most places where addresses aren't already standardized enough, the real challenge is the _directions_. So the most important part of a delivery is the _phone number_, to have a conversation about how to get there
