@patio11 as you are a serial small business owner and stripe, I always thought it interesting that you advise people to work for large co's. This came up on MR today. Would you update priors in this or stand by your original advice?

I don't know if I advise people to work for big companies? My career advice to people generally depends on circumstances/values. I think I have said (accurately) that AppAmaGooBookSoft substantially outbid most other options in terms of cash compensation for W-2 employees.

I would not update my priors on what Google's range of offers is for e.g. engineers with five years of professional experience given the evidence that outsourcing is causing the wage premium of large-firms-that-aren't-Google to contract.
