Does Stripe hire new grads? It's not entirely clear how much experience is required in the job descriptions (or whether this is something Stripe doesn't care too much about!)

We extensively hire new grads. We try to hit a mix at any given time of experience levels, both at the company and within a cohort of employees hired. Speaking generally: all companies operating at scale need senior engineers to help supervise and mentor junior engineers.

@patio11 A huge fan of your blog and yes I am interested in Strip. Can I PM you? -
Sure! But email probably more reliable.

What topic/tech/pattern has working inside of stripe caused you to no longer be concerned about? (ie. versioning, deployments, dunning, retry flows, ... )

Payroll. Not a joke; I spent about an hour a month every month just to get permission to move money from one pocket to the other licitly back when I was running things. Now it just shows up on schedule.

Any advice on applying for an internship with Stripe?
-
Speaking generally for interning in the tech industry: have a project you can point to which comports to what target values and demonstrates that you can write code outside of a classroom setting. Then, find an actual named person to show it to and have a conversation about it.

Since you probably can't say what Stripe offered monetarily, what is the smallest offer they could have made that you would have snap-accepted?
@csallen said $3m. -
As professional courtesy, I don’t talk about others people’s financials w/o permission, inclusive of particular firms negotiating with me. Happy to have drinks some time regarding the question on “Guess your market clearing price” and “How would various firms structure it?”
