Incidentally if you love Ruby and you’re looking for a second language Golang is a great choice. It fits a very different ecological niche (increasing your capabilities), plays well with Ruby over HTTP, and “feels kinda like” Ruby while you’re writing it.

I don’t even know how to describe it but Golang is much closer to C++ than Ruby but Golang feels closer to Ruby than C++ (or Java, or C#) does by a country mile.

People I talk to in tech are ahead of the curve in compensation, and yet businesss people “try” to frame compensation against Glassdoor/salarydotcom. In your experience are those tools accurate or half a standard deviation off (or more?)
